Faith Ringgold + Alison Aune

Alison Aune and several art education majors from UMD recently attended a National Art Education Association conference in New Orleans to present their project…. The Turkish Tulip and Arabesque: A University and Community Collaboration presented by Alison Aune-Hinkel with Natalie L. Patrick, Debra Lindholm. Inspired by Turkish decorative arts, university students and art teachers developed and disseminated lesson plans for children that integrated botanical, symbolic, and geometric patterns.

They had a great trip down there. One highlight for Alison was attending a doll making workshop with the legendary Faith Ringgold. Alison was simply glowing from the positive experience!
