“Comic Panels and Graphic Art” will be featured Thursday, February 18, at the Kathryn A. Martin Library, room 119, from 3:30 to 5 pm.

Guest presenters are three widely known Minnesota graphic artists who will share their work and answer your questions: Barbara Schulz, Hitchhiker Vinegarettes, Minnesota College of Art and Design; Clint Hilinski, action-adventure genre, freelancer; and Duluth’s Chris Monroe, author and illustrator of the “Violet Days” series.

The exploding medium of comic art—its format, context, and cultural significance—will be introduced by three UMD faculty members: graphic artist Darren Houser; Wonder Woman and gender scholar Mitra Emad; and researcher David Beard, who specializes in comics and struggle.
“Comic Panels and Graphic Art” is made possible through a UMD Public Engagement Grant. Refreshments will be served.
